The four paintings below are each at what used to be a popular swimming, picnicking and dining on a boat ‘La Grenouillere’ after which each of the works are named. The first three paintings are by Monet. Interestingly, the third of the three (painted in colors similar to those used by Monet) was copied by me from a blurry black and white photograph of the original Monet’ work which was destroyed during WWII.
The fourth watercolour painting below was painted by Renoir at the same time as the three Monet works. Renoir and Monet sometimes painted together, almost side-by-side, hence the similarity of the work.
