The trio of paintings below were created for a single commission in which the married couple wanted long colourful artworks the brighten the all white walls of their contemporary home that sat on the
Altona esplanade overlooking Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne.
In particular their request was for abstract paintings that captured the colour and activity of the Altona foreshore. That is the artwork below. While apparent in real life but not so much in the photograph below, the picture is divided into 3 major sections: the sky, the sea, the sand. Pictured in abstract terms the artwork shows the Altona pier, a sailboard rider, cyclist, beach umbrella; and in gold leaf, sunlight glistening on the water.
Total commission investment AUD$9,500
